They were more open and willing to see my dog.Even though I would say first time, customer pretty much right away.Meanwhile , my previous vet told me I'd had to wait two months
I have been taking my dogs to Animal Haven for many years. Dr. Brady is caring, knowledgeable and thorough, and their staff is just as wonderful.
When my last dog died after being hit by a car in 2018, I brought him in to be cremated. I was absolutely devastated, and unemployed at the time. Several of my friends and family called individually to provide their credit card numbers to cover the cost. The staff graciously accepted all of the individual payments, and allowed me to spend time in an exam room to grieve and say goodbye to my beloved boy. They were exceptionally kind and compassionate during a horrific time.
I was very happy to return when I adopted my rescue. When I needed his vaccination records for his groomer, they promptly emailed them to me. Thank you for all you do!
Every time I take my dog to animal haven I am so thankful for the caring staff. Tammy at the front desk is so kind and positive and is helpful putting nerves at ease for both me and my dog. Dr. Brady is always so helpful and caring and understands how stressful vet visits can be. All the vet techs are wonderful as well. Cannot say enough good things about animal haven! They really care about you and your fur baby!
Yesterday I took my dog to his follow-up appointment after undergoing a very extensive treatment with sedation two weeks ago.
We waited almost three hours just for the checkup with Dr. Nancy Brady. During that time, I explained several concerns to the assistant, but I did not understand why the doctor never came to examine my dog herself, considering he had undergone major surgery and approximately $3,000 had been paid during the previous visit. Instead, the doctor only sent her assistant to check my dog.
I clearly communicated to the assistant that my dog was having difficulty breathing. After nearly two more hours, Dr. Brady finally came in, visibly upset, and asked what was going on. At that moment, I realized the assistant had not accurately communicated my concerns. Dr. Brady stated that the X-rays had been taken because my dog was “wobbly,” when what I actually reported was respiratory distress.
I am not blaming the assistant — I blame the doctor. If she was unable to see my dog in a timely manner, the appointment should have been rescheduled, especially since this visit had been scheduled in advance.
Toward the end of the visit, Dr. Brady finally decided to speak with me only after I refused to pay $860 for something my dog did not need. The X-rays showed nothing abnormal. Additionally, it is unethical that assistants discussed the radiograph findings with me, as only Dr. Nancy Brady is supposed to communicate diagnoses — which she did not do properly.
Later, Dr. Brady asked to see my dog again. She came back with gloves and a towel and said it was better to examine him in the back because dogs get nervous. She spent less than one minute examining him and said everything was fine, but her body language was aggressive.
She then stated my dog had lost one pound and attempted to intimidate me by implying that I was not feeding him. It is obvious that a dog may eat less after five dental extractions.
While still acting aggressively, she roughly grabbed my very small dog and placed him forcefully on the scale when the assistant weight him before entering the room for the check up visit. I could see tears in my dog’s eyes and i immediately asked her to give me my dog back. At that moment, I realized something more serious may have happened in the back, where she refused to examine him in front of me.I know my dogs expressions since I have him since 3 months and his 15 yrs old now.
Dr. Nancy Brady shows no empathy toward animals. I should never have returned. Bringing your pet here exposes them to rough handling and mistreatment. I had a similar experience at this clinic in 2019 involving one of her assistants.
Dr. Brady, you are aggressive, lack empathy toward dogs, and treat them poorly because they cannot speak for themselves. I work in healthcare settings, and I understand how some doctors treat people.
I expect a response here because I know it is common for doctors to present a different version of events in order to make pet owners feel guilty. If I did not care about my dog, I would not have paid thousands of dollars for his care.
My dog was misdiagnosed, despite my clear report of respiratory distress. You were aware of this error, yet still proceeded to charge $300 and attempted to collect additional payment. That decision speaks volumes.
This behavior appears motivated by financial gain rather than genuine concern for animal welfare. Despite this being the result of your error, you didn’t do nothing to fixed anything and instead you charged anyways after $300 for a wrong diagnosis.
Are you doing anything to fix the problem after
1. Nearly three hours of waiting, followed by a brief, dismissive visit with no apology.
2. Misdiagnosis based on X-rays that did not reflect my reported concern, with improper reliance on an assistant instead of direct veterinarian assessment.
3. Forceful and inappropriate handling of my dog, causing visible distress.
This experience was unprofessional and unacceptable, resulting in emotional distress, financial impact, and a complete loss of trust in your care.
